Nacogdoches.
Rooted in Texas, not cliché
As the oldest town in Texas, Nacogdoches carries a deep sense of identity without needing to announce it loudly. The goal for the logo was to reflect that quiet confidence while staying rooted in place.
The concept centers on Texas identity, expressed through a handcrafted script that feels personal and historic. The lettering introduces warmth and approachability, giving the mark a sense of authenticity without feeling overly nostalgic.
A subtle star anchors the design, reinforcing state pride without overpowering the wordmark. The challenge was finding that balance, avoiding familiar Western clichés while still making the connection to Texas clear.
Careful attention to the flow of the script keeps the mark readable and cohesive, allowing it to scale across signage, merchandise, and digital applications without losing its character.
The result is a logo that feels genuine, grounded, and distinctly tied to its roots.
