Napa River Inn.
Turning limitations into direction
The Napa River Inn sits in the heart of Downtown Napa’s Riverfront District, a boutique hotel surrounded by tasting rooms, local shops, and the steady energy of a revitalized wine country destination. The property blends historic character with modern comfort, but the website was not telling that story very well. The existing experience felt dated and fragmented, and the brand itself lacked a clear digital voice.
The redesign focused on bringing clarity and elegance to the experience while keeping the primary goal simple. Help visitors book a room. To support that, a clearly designed booking module remained persistent in a consistent location across the site, making it easy to take action without interrupting the experience.
Navigation was simplified so visitors could quickly explore accommodations, amenities, and the surrounding downtown area without losing sight of the path to booking. The strongest moments come through the room pages, where the experience feels most complete and aligned with the property itself.

ne challenge was working with a limited photography library. While the rooms were well represented, imagery of the property and surrounding area was inconsistent. Instead of relying solely on visuals, the design leans into layout, typography, and module structure to create a more cohesive and elevated experience.
Color, texture, and typography play a larger role in shaping the brand’s presence. Subtle textures and warm tones help reinforce a wine country feel, drawing inspiration from a more Tuscan aesthetic rather than a typical hotel site. Typography adds a layer of sophistication, giving the experience a sense of place even when imagery is limited.
Flexible room and amenities modules help the content feel structured and intentional rather than sparse. Those components create consistency across the site while allowing the stronger photography to carry key moments.
Once the elements began working together, the experience started to feel cohesive. The updated platform improved booking engagement, received strong feedback from the client, and gave the hotel team a design they could confidently use to represent the property online.
